Karpisek's Market is owned and operated by Russ and Jill Karpisek. They purchased the market from Russ' grandmother, Ella Karpisek, in 1989. It has been in the Karpisek family since 1967, when Ella and her late husband, Irvin, purchased it from the Apefelbeck family, who operated it since the turn of the century.

Karpisek's Market is the "Home of the Wilber Wiener". The original recipe for the wieners came over from Czechoslovakia with the Apfelbeck family. Today, the Wilber Wieners are made with the  same recipe and process that was used 100 years ago.
